Just like the other two Superschool Neighbourhoods in Oakville, Clearview appears to be a veritable hotbed for elementary education. James W Hill Public School was ranked #1 in the 2015 Susi Rankings, and has a student enrolment of approximately 600 students. This is a French Immersion school, and approximately half of students are currently in this programme. School begins at 8:45am, and the children are dismissed at 3:05pm. James W Hill PS has students enrolled from JK-Grade 8, and French Immersion goes all the way up Grade 8, as well. For a more detailed analysis of James W Hill PS, please go here.
In Grade 9, students attend the #1-ranked public high school in Oakville, Oakville Trafalgar SS, which is located in Morrison (definitely a bus ride away). They have been ranked #1 for the past five years in my rankings. (It is difficult to put a lot of “stock” into high school rankings in Ontario, however. Testing happens in Grade 9 and 10, meaning each high school has their students less than 2 years before they are EQAO-tested.) There are over 1200 students attending Oakville Trafalgar SS, with over 200 of them continuing on with French Immersion. Students attend school from 8:15am-2:50pm. School clubs at Oakville Trafalgar include the Animal Rights Club, Robotics, Investment Club, Gay/Straight Alliance, and the Bridge Club.
The great schooling in this neighbourhood is not limited to the public school students. The Catholic school, St. Luke, was ranked #2 in my 2015 elementary rankings for Oakville. The secondary school is St. Thomas Aquinas, one of only three Catholic high schools in Oakville. There will be a bit of a bus ride to get there!
